Due Date

So today is our due date, but since none of you have heard your phones ringing from us lately, Braden isn’t here. Yet. My last appointment was on Thursday and the doctor said everything is going really well. He is growing and moving very well. However, I was only about 1 cm dilated and with 9 cm to go, it seems like it could be a while. We asked about induction and she said that since I am not very far progressed (internally) it would be a very long painful process that could potentially end in a c-section, which I would not really like. So this gave us our answer that we had been praying would be obvious to us. We are going to let this little guy come when he’s ready. My next appointment is this coming Thursday, so unless he comes by then, we are going back to Dr. Anstine. I will be almost 41 weeks then and they don’t let women go over 42 weeks (higher sickness/death rate for both moms and babies) so we will probably schedule a time to go in for an induction during the following week in case he still hasn’t come.

Kevin and I are trying to be patient but it is so hard! We can’t wait to meet our son! We are curious as to who he is going to look like, what kind of baby he will be and how long those legs are! So pray for us and our patience levels. And while you are at it, pray that he comes soon! We’d really appreciate it! Hope the next time you hear from us we will be telling you how beautiful he is and all his birth stats.

New camera

Kevin and I got a new camera last week. It’s a Canon EOS Rebel XTi digital SLR. I’m sure he can tell you all the details about it more than I can but it means he has a new toy to play with! Since I’m the only other human in the house, he takes my picture all day! Most get deleted, but I thought I’d post a few of the more fun ones.

Braden’s Nursery

Thought we’d post the most recent pictures of the nursery. My brother is painting pictures to hang on the wall where the balloon is now, and then it will be complete! But Braden can come at anytime. He doesn’t need to wait till the pictures are done!

Uncle & Aunt Turner

Morgan and I are now proud to be called a new name, no, not mom and dad yet, but Aunt and Uncle.  My brother and his wife are now proud parents to a beautiful baby boy.  Liam Richard Turner was born on January 8th at 1:51AM.  He was 8lbs 1oz and 21.5 inches long.  Morgan, myself and my parents were privileged to be in the hospital during his birth and were able to see him about half an hour later.

Thanks Brian and Eryn for such a beautiful boy.

Turner baby shower

Last week my Joyce, my mother-in-law, threw Eryn, my sis-in-law, a baby shower for our baby boys. They are due 2 days apart and going to be bestest friends! It was great getting to see the family again and both new moms ended up sitting next to the Great Grandmas. I thought that was pretty cool.

Eryn strategically placed presents in front of her belly in all the pictures! Sneaky little lady!!

Sickly Momma

On Sunday I started feeling a little congested with a sore throat, but thinking it was just a cold I was just going to let it ride. By Tuesday though it was still getting worse and my ears started to itch and hurt, so Wednesday I went to the doctor. It was quite the visit. They did the routine checks, but when she looked at my throat, she said (and I quote) “Oh, yucky!!” Major confidence builder. She also did a throat swab, but after doing the right side, she pulled it out and apologized and said she had to do the left side. But before she did that, I ended up throwing up all over myself. She had set off my gag reflex and thought I was joking when I said was going to throw up. She apologized a million times and sent me home with a prescription for an antibiotic, just in case it’s strep throat or an ear infection.

Kevin thought it would be funny to take a picture of me and baby when I was feeling totally miserable…

Poll results

Thank you all for voting on when you think Braden will enter this world, but I hope (as the mother) that this little guy is going to side with the majority vote and be early! And for those of you that think he’ll be late, I hope you are wrong! ;-)

Two New Looks for the Fall

26 Weeks

And to all that haven’t heard, being a brunette with a bump is totally in this season! Of course being the fashion addict I am (haha!), I decided to play along.

Actually, I wanted to try something new with my hair and since I have always been blonde, I thought I’d try going a little darker. With all the pregnancy hormones in my body, (and I guess hair) the darker color really took. Normally it wouldn’t have been this dark, but I guess those hormones that make my brain and body go crazy, make hair go crazy too! Fortunately the purple didn’t stick! When the dye was still in, my hair was the color of grape juice! Yikes! Kinda shocking, but I’d have to say, very different from the blonde I was sporting before!

All my thanks go to Shannon Butler, stylist to the gods, or wait, that’s supposed to be Shannon Butler, stylist and child of God! Thanks Shan! Kevin and I both love it!

And then there’s the ever growing bump… Braden keeps practicing his karate on my bladder and ribs. He’s certainly developing a strong kick and punch! I’ll allow it for now, but it’s certainly not going to continue after he enters this world!

Ok, that’s all for now. We are leaving for Cancun on Sunday, so we might be able to post some pictures while we are there, or it might have to wait till after we get home. But either way, keep checking back!

More Preggo Pics…

Me at 21 weeks. I thought I’d never actually look pregnant. Well, there it is…

It’s a BOY!!

UltraSound_20070919.jpg

Isn’t he beautiful!

Wednesday September 19th Kevin and I went in for our next ultrasound. We were very excited to find out that we are having a boy! From everything we saw he is totally healthy and growing right on target. The ultrasound tech said he had a beautiful heart, hopefully that will mean he will be very sweet once he enters this world. She also said that our little guys leg length is in the 99.6 percentile! He’s going to be a tall boy like his daddy! It was so neat to see him swallowing and moving his arms and legs. I can’t wait till I hold him in my arms and see him move those little arms and legs!

We have also posted a poll for everyone to give their input on what his name will be. Of course we ultimately have the final decision, but we are interested to see what everyone else likes. We already have a middle name picked, so this would only be for the first name. Thanks!
