Great Grandparents

4 generations
Great-Grandpa Lucky, Great-Grandma Connie, Grampy Tony, Mommy Morgan and Braden

This past week my grandparents came into town to meet their new great-grandson. It is always so great to see them and it was even more special this time. They were so great with Braden and showed him so much love. Thanks for visiting Grandpa and Grandma! Love you!

Braden’s new friends

Meet some of Braden’s new friends! All of them were born within a month of each other. What a fun time for babies and parents!

He’s here!  Born on February 1st, 2008 at 12:48PM.  He was 7lbs and 14oz & 19.5 inches long!  He and his mother are doing wonderful.  thanks for all your prayers.

Due Date

So today is our due date, but since none of you have heard your phones ringing from us lately, Braden isn’t here. Yet. My last appointment was on Thursday and the doctor said everything is going really well. He is growing and moving very well. However, I was only about 1 cm dilated and with 9 cm to go, it seems like it could be a while. We asked about induction and she said that since I am not very far progressed (internally) it would be a very long painful process that could potentially end in a c-section, which I would not really like. So this gave us our answer that we had been praying would be obvious to us. We are going to let this little guy come when he’s ready. My next appointment is this coming Thursday, so unless he comes by then, we are going back to Dr. Anstine. I will be almost 41 weeks then and they don’t let women go over 42 weeks (higher sickness/death rate for both moms and babies) so we will probably schedule a time to go in for an induction during the following week in case he still hasn’t come.

Kevin and I are trying to be patient but it is so hard! We can’t wait to meet our son! We are curious as to who he is going to look like, what kind of baby he will be and how long those legs are! So pray for us and our patience levels. And while you are at it, pray that he comes soon! We’d really appreciate it! Hope the next time you hear from us we will be telling you how beautiful he is and all his birth stats.

Happy Birthday Mark Gould!

New camera

Kevin and I got a new camera last week. It’s a Canon EOS Rebel XTi digital SLR. I’m sure he can tell you all the details about it more than I can but it means he has a new toy to play with! Since I’m the only other human in the house, he takes my picture all day! Most get deleted, but I thought I’d post a few of the more fun ones.

Guitar Heroes

One of the Christmas presents I received from my parents was Guitar Hero III for the Xbox 360.  I had NO IDEA how much I would be addicted to this game, but alas, I am.  The bonus is that Morgan even enjoys playing the game.  One problem I need to watch is to not play the songs too much as that really annoys Morgan and might make it so that she won’t play anymore.  My goal is to get Morgan to love video games …. :-)

Christmas in Portland

A family tradition on my mother’s side that we just love to participate in is called “the box”. Yes, a little scary sounding, but it’s so great! My mothers sister Diane works for corporate Nike in Beaverton and throughout the year has the opportunity to collect free items that would be thrown away or given away. She brings these items home and puts them in, you guessed it, the box. This year we had 14 people participating and we each got 4 high quality items. We draw numbers and go around the circle in order, shutting our eyes and blindly reaching in and picking out an item. Each piece can be stolen 3 times then is “frozen”. It is so fun, especially when the men grab out something like a sports bra or gold lamay pants! We all came away with so many great Nike items. (the retail value of the average persons stash is over $150!) Thanks so much Diane!

(Isn’t she the cutest!)

I know, I know, I’m really far behind in my blogging, but give me a break, I’m 9 months pregnant! ;-) This year for Christmas, Kevin and I planned to spend Christmas eve with his Grandparents Turner and his aunt, uncle and cousins in from Michigan. It’s always so much fun! One of Kevin’s uncles get everyone an envelope filled with Lotto scratch tickets and we sit and have a blast seeing who was the luckiest that year. Last year it was Kevin and I, but this year we passed our luck on to Brian and Eryn. They were the big winners!

Then we planned on going to my parents house in the morning of Christmas and his parents in the afternoon/evening. But the Sunday before Christmas Kevin surprised me with a wonderful Christmas gift, a trip to Portland with my parents to visit my family over in Oregon and Washington. It was a wonderful surprise and a great gift. So our plans changed to spend the morning with his parents then head to my family for presents and dinner, then off to the airport. It was so wonderful!

Turner baby shower

Last week my Joyce, my mother-in-law, threw Eryn, my sis-in-law, a baby shower for our baby boys. They are due 2 days apart and going to be bestest friends! It was great getting to see the family again and both new moms ended up sitting next to the Great Grandmas. I thought that was pretty cool.
